Book Description:

Back in college, the bras-before-bros sisterhood decided to live for achievement in the boardroom, not the bedroom. Rosalind Betters embraced that philosophy, pursuing her career and little else. But when her last single friend, Kamakshi, announces her engagement in of all things, an arranged marriage, Rosalind reevaluates the merits of matrimony. In her typical gung ho fashion, she names a date, books a venue, hires a caterer, and picks out a dress, all before finding a groom. Taking a lesson from Kamakshi and too busy to do otherwise, Rosalind hires San Francisco's best headhunter, Xavier Hommes, to find her better half for her.
At first, Xavier thinks Rosalind is one of the eccentric personalities for which the city is famous. As the search starts, however, Xavier finds himself hating his task for reasons he never would have suspected. If Rosalind really wants a man who will make her happy, she need look no further. As W-Day approaches and Rosalind starts falling for someone Xavier himself headhunted, he walks the line between professionalism and passion, trying to decide if competing to become Mr. Betters is worth the risk to his commission, his reputation, and Rosalind's happiness.

Favorite Quote from HAVE GOWN, WILL WED

Xavier glared at Rosalind accusingly. "Why are you out of bed?"
"Why are you still here?" she huffed back. "Last time I woke up to find a handsome man in my kitchen cooking, it was breakfast and he was naked.”
"Well, in this case, it's soup, and I charge extra for that kind of service."

About the Author

Killian McRae would tell you that she is a rather boring lass, an authoress whose characters’ lives are so much more exciting than her own. She would be right. Sadly, this sarcastic lexophile leads a rather mundane existence in the San Francisco Bay Area. She once dreamed of being the female Indiana Jones, and to that end she earned a degree in Middle Eastern History from the University of Michigan. However, when she learned that real archaeologist spend more time lovingly removing dust with toothbrushes from shards of pottery than outrunning intriguing villains with exotic accents, she decided to become a writer instead. She writes across many genres, including science fiction, fantasy, romance, and historical fiction.

~Excerpt~

Phillip took one final step closer. “Just give me one more chance, please? I’m begging you, and you know I never beg.” He was starting to freak me out, displaying a new personality I’d never met before. I’d thought my introductions had been made with all of them by now. “And if you go on one of you crazy rampages, then what? I’m supposed to forgive you again? I can’t keep going through this vicious cycle, Phillip.” I suddenly noticed he had slyly made his way into my house. Standing firmly by the door, I wasn’t about to let him in any further.

~Interview with Jaxon Vaughn~

After a bit of persuasion, I finally talked Jaxon into taking a little time off from his busy schedule to do this interview. I wish you ladies could see him as he waltzed in with gray shorts, a black wife beater and black vans. Even though he’s a bit young for me and we’ve developed a close friendship, I still find him panty-melting hot. Shew! Now I know how Courtney feels. Me – “Hi Jaxon, I’m so glad you agreed to meet for an interview. I know things have been a bit crazy for you lately.” Jaxon – He grins a big closed mouth smile, displaying his deep and delicious dimples. Me – “A few friends of mine wanted to ask a few questions so I’ll start with theirs first. Do you believe in love at first sight?” Jaxon – He narrows his eyes at me. “Is that a trick question?” He rubs the scruff on his face, staring at me, waiting for me to answer. Me – I laugh nervously. “I’m not the one being interviewed here, but okay, I’ll move on. Are you a one woman man?” Jaxon – “Next,” he deadpanned without even looking at me. Me – Wow! The temperature in the room dropped about fifteen degrees. “Have you ever considered any other piercings?” Jaxon – “No. Courtney pierced my heart, so anything else now will never matter.” Me – I decided to skip the next question about him and Courtney’s future plans. Instead, I opted for one I knew he would jump all over. “So, I hear you have a restored ’72 Chevy truck, is that right?” Jaxon – His lips spread out over his face as if he was a kid opening up his most wanted gift on Christmas. Chuckling, he replied, “Oh yes! That’s my baby, my black stallion. She belonged to my grampa. After my grampa died, my gramma kept her for me to drive as soon as I turned sixteen. I took care of her over the years and polished her to perfection so she would be ready once I got my license. She’s sort of attached to me now. She gets very jealous over other girls.” Me – “Haha! So I’ve heard. Does anyone ever get to take a ride with her?” Jaxon – “Of course! As long as she doesn’t feel threatened, she’s okay with it. You wanna go?” He asked, his thumb pointing in the direction of the door. Me – I’m utterly baffled. “Hell yeah, I want to go for a ride.” Jaxon – “Well c’mon! This interview blows anyway. I’ll show you what a good time really is,” he laughed, his eyes looking at me all seductive-like. Me – No way was he flirting with me. I’m gushing inside right now. He doesn’t know it yet, but I’m gonna make sure we make a full day out of this. See ya! I got a hot guy that needs an older woman’s attention.

~About Author Jill Patten~

 photo 1367775529601.jpg

Jill Patten was born a Yankee, but raised a southerner. She lives in the small town of Mayberry, North Carolina which was made famous by a popular TV show back in the sixties. (Maybe there will one day be a statue of her at the end of Main Street. Ha! A girl can dream, right?) Jill has always loved to read, even during reading labs in middle school for reading comprehension. Judy Blume was her first author she hero-worshipped, maturing to revere the works of Stephen King. With all the fantastic authors today, she simply cannot choose a favorite. Her taste is very eclectic and she loves almost all genres. When she's not captivated by her fictional characters, she spends time with her sweet husband and two beautiful children. Music is her muse. Jill also loves elephants, sarcasm, and anything made with sugar, especially sweet tea. She enjoys all things rude and crude and laughs at stuff she probably shouldn't. She has been accused of being bossy a time or two, but doesn't really see it herself. All in all, Jill is just a small town girl in this great big world trying to enable your book addiction. Oh, and if you read her book, please leave her a review - good or bad, she'll love you forever.

My Today (My Way #2) - review

My Today is Lacey's story and I have to say I loved it even more than My Now and Forever (where we first get to meet her)!

I love Lacey! She is a fantastic character and I'm so happy that I got to read her story. She is Millie's best friend, she's smart, sassy, spunky, and overcoming years of sexual abuse that she's kept hidden under scars and tattoos.

When she wakes up next to Tripp, Cree's cousin, after a night that neither of them remember, a friendship begins which leads to more.  He has family demons that he's been battling and Lacey is just the person to help him through it. Tripp and Lacey are perfect together!

We get more of Millie and Cree as well as Willow and Annie in this book. It was emotional, funny and all about putting your past behind you. My Today was fantastic! You should definitely read

P.S. You can find my name in the acknowledgements!!!! Thank you, thank you, HJ Bellus!!!!

Real - review

Real....ugh! I really, really, really wanted to love this book. I've been waiting to read it because I know book 2 is coming out next week. That being said, I'm hoping Mine will change my opinion of Real.

Lets start by saying that Remington "Riptide" Tate is hot! He's a sexy, underground fighter and the extreme definition of alpha male. Oh and he's completely manic and bi-polar. Good thing he's still hot!

When he sees Brooke at one of his fights, he just has to have her. Not wanting to hurt her like he does everyone else when he goes "black", he hires her to work for him and takes his time getting her into bed.

I'm so torn at how I feel about this book. It had everything I love in a book yet I didn't love it. I wasn't really a big fan of Brooke. She was really annoying and kind of dull. Luckily, Remy stole the show!

Even though I can only give this book 3.5/4 stars, I'm looking forward to more books by Katy Evans. And yes, I'm going to read Mine......stay tuned!
