Arsen - review

Arsen. A broken love story. Real, raw and absolutely amazing! From the very first page I was like a moth to a flame! Arsen set me on fire!

Be warned, this is not your typical love story. Arsen is a book about love. It's a book about lies. It's a book about betrayal. It will break you. It will rip you apart. It will destroy you and it will put you back together. I have never been able to relate to a book so much. Cathy is not your typical heroine. In fact she is not a heroine at all. She is a liar, a cheater, completely broken and in love with two men. Possibly.

“Love is infinite. There is no beginning and no end. There's no starting point and no finishing line. Love just is. Love is born, grows, matures, and sometimes it dies. But the memory will remain with you for the rest of your breathing hours. You will fall in love, you will fall out of love. But you will love again. You always do.”- Mia Asher

This book will take you on a roller coaster ride that you can not get off of! I honestly can not recommend this book enough. Put it at the top of your reading list immediately. Or better yet, go read it now. Go ahead, I'll wait. You won't be able to put it down!

Pulse - review

Gail McHugh definitely got my pulse going in the follow up to Emily and Gavin's story from Collide. I loved every angst-filled, hot, intense minute of this book (except for the part that nearly gave me a heart attack)! Thanks for that ;)

Gavin Blake is still every bit of the tall, dark and f**kable, swoon worthy, book boyfriend that every girl should be fortunate enough to find. As if it was possible to love him even more, he took it to a whole new level here! Though Emily and Gavin have a few obstacles to overcome, what they endure makes them that much stronger.

We were written for one another, and I wouldn't change one line in our romance novel. The good, the bad, the in between. It's ours. We own it. - Gail McHugh

I could feel Gavin and Emily's love for one another just oozing off the pages! A true love that completes you, makes you stronger and completely happy is hard to find.  To be so lucky to find the kind of love that books and movies are made about is truly the greatest ever!

I strongly recommend this series and look forward to what Ms. McHugh delivers us next!

Collide - review

A missed first encounter...Colliding with a second chance....Oh my word!! I can't believe I waited so long to read this one but thank goodness I did because now I can dive right into Pulse.

Let me start by saying that this book had it all! A love triangle, angst, drama, love, hot sex, broken hearts, awesome characters and so much more! Gavin Blake is my new swoon-worthy book boyfriend! Hot damn that guy is fine!!
*fanning self

Emily is new to the Big Apple and getting settled in with the help of her boyfriend, Dillon when she meets the tall-dark and F**kable, Gavin Blake! A Yankees game, a few bottle caps and thoughts of a packed green mini van has Emily re-evaluating her current relationship.

This book was my cup of tea and I can't wait to drink up more!

Thief - review

Thief. The third and final installment of the Love Me With Lies series comes full circle to a fantastic ending right where it began so long ago. After the last bomb was dropped in Dirty Red, I have been dying to get my hands on Thief.

Tarryn Fisher did an amazing job on this series. Each book is told from a different character's point of view and this time we finally get to hear from Caleb. From the very beginning Caleb and Olivia have had a roller coaster romance. Caleb is determined to get Olivia back after all this time while dealing with the aftermath of Leah and her destruction as well.

Caleb and Olivia's relationship is completely dysfunctional. They have both had their fair share of ups and downs, trouble, heartache, loss and have had every obstacle possible thrown in their way yet they are so drawn to each other and they make each other stronger.

Their story is imperfectly perfect! Highly recommend this series for anyone looking for and angst filled, highly dramatic, emotional read.

Love is patient; love is kind.
Love doesn't boast or brag.
There's no arrogance in love;
it's never rude, crude, or indecent-it's not self absorbed.
Love isn't easily upset.
Love doesn't tally wrongs.
Love trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what.
Love will never become obsolete.
I'll fight for her.

Avoiding Responsibility - review

For those of you who had to wait for this one, I bet you are thinking it was so worth it! I waited until now to write the review because I didn't want to give anything away. If you haven't read Avoiding Commitment, you can find my review here but I suggest you read it now!

Lexi is trying to move on with her life when she receives a phone call from Ramsey inviting her to Jack & Bekah's wedding. The wedding that Lexi has been trying to avoid at all costs. Lets just say that all of the angst and drama are back and the emotional roller coaster is one heck of a ride!

I absolutely loved the music lyrics at the beginning of each chapter, how it went from past to present tense and the ending was awesome! I am really hoping that K.A. Linde decides to write a third book however, I don't know if my heart can take it. Not saying I wouldn't read it though!

Breathing Series - reviews

Reason to Breathe is the first book in the highly emotional Breathing Series from Rebecca Donovan.

Emma Thomas is beautiful, smart, strong and goes through high school trying not to exist. She buries herself in school work to avoid the disturbing reality that is her life.  Emma lives with her aunt who emotionally, verbally and physically abuses her and her uncle who doesn't acknowledge the fact. When Evan Matthews shows up as a new student he completely turns her world upside down.

This book was so emotionally disturbing to read but it was one of those books that you just can't put down. Make sure when you read it you have the second book readily available because there is on hell of a cliffhanger!

Wow. Speechless. Barely breathing is just as intense and emotional as the first book.

Six months after the night from hell in Reason to Breathe, Emma is staying with her best friend Sara, when she decides to go live with her alcoholic mother.  Not a very good situation for Emma to be in especially since her mother never remembers half of what she says and does when she is sober. Rachel's new, younger boyfriend Jonathan befriends Emma and they realize that they have a lot  more in common than they think. Both are dealing with past issues of abuse and begin a relationship that they can't explain.

There are so many twists and turns and ups and downs in this book. Just when you think everything is going to turn out okay Miss Donovan turns it up a notch and we are left in total shock with another cliffhanger! Just breathe! And wait for Out of Breath which will be out next year!

The Sweet Gum Tree - review

The Sweet Gum Tree was a phenomenal book about a southern girl from a well respected family who falls in love with a boy from the wrong side of town.

Nick comes from a broken home and an abusive father. When he meets Alix, a girl that sees the good in him, everything changes. Alix and Nick are just kids when they first meet and they form an amazing friendship which over the years turns into love. Everything seems to be going just right for them until the one night that Nick's father is shot in his trailer and Nick takes off, leaving Alix confused and pregnant. She moves on with her life and fifteen years later Nick is back in town and not alone, yet he is determined to win Alix back.

This book was beautifully written, the characters were amazing and it's full of emotion, heartache, forgiveness and love. I highly recommend this one, 4.5 stars!

Untouchable Series - reviews

First off, I absolutely loved this series! All of it! I read them back to back to back and never wanted them to end.

In book one of the series, we meet heiress in hiding, Annalisa (Winslett) McKinnis.  She is an absolute bad ass and is pretty much awesome at everything. It's a little annoying after while but whatever, I loved it! When two new hotties enroll at Pensacola High, of course they both fall for her. Unfortunately, one of them is hired to kill her. Leese and Evan (aka Micah) both end up telling eachother the truth about who they really are and Micah has six weeks to finish his job or someone will kill them both.

You can feel the love and sexual tension on each page. There are so many twists and turns in this book. I honestly couldn't put it down because I was dying to know what was going to happen next.

Unforgivable was an excellent addition to the Untouchable Series!

It picks up right where the first book left off. With Micah having left the mob, Leese and Micah believe they can finally live their life together. Unfortunately, the mob doesn't want to let go of their best hit man.

Both Micah and Leese make some extremely unforgivable decisions in the name of love and to protect eachother. I was a complete angsty mess while reading this book. We get more of Ryan's character too (the other boy from the first book). He turns out to be a great friend to Annalisa but of course those feelings he has for her are still there.

What a heart wrenching yet hopeful book!

Aahhhh Untraceable, the final chapter in the Untouchable Series did not disappoint. It's full of action, a lot more sex, suspense and emotional wreckage!

The love between Micah and Annalisa is real and intense. I found myself screaming at the pages, at Micah and at the hell that was breaking loose all over!

Luckily, we get a happy ending, a hell of a shocker and the possibility of being able to have it all over again!

If you haven't read this series, I highly recommend it. Perfect amount of  romance, angst, heartbreak, sacrifice, family, faith and hope and love.

Avoiding Commitment - review

Oh K.A. Linde!!!! How you torment me!!! (In a good way, of course!) Even writing this review gets me all torn up again!

Jack and Lexi have never had a normal relationship. You could say that it was tainted from the beginning. Everything changes one night when Jack calls Lexi after 2 years and asks her to talk to his new girlfriend, soon to be fiance, Bekah and convince her that he's now ready to be in a committed relationship. Ugh, really?! Jack!

Lexi relives her relationship with Jack and the book alternates between past and present day. Avoiding Commitment is super angsty!! Like you wanna punch someone in the face, break your kindle in half, angsty! Every girl has had a "Jack" in her life....I love you, Jack and I hate you, Jack! Bekah, you manipulative bitch! I hate you more! And Ramsey, well, I'm still undecided.  And I can't wait for more!

(Luckily I've already read Avoiding Responsibility and I didn't have to wait. Review is coming shortly.) If you haven't read it yet, it'll be out December 1st!

Taking Chances - review

Bring out the tissues!!!! I can't believe that on all of the days to read this one, I pick September 11th. It was ironic that the book made reference to that day and it was extremely emotional in just the right places.

Taking Chances started off with a Beautiful Disaster/Thoughtless feel too it but about halfway through that entire thought was gone and my world was flipped upside down! I was literally sobbing and completely in shock! NOOOOOOO!!! I had to re-read the page twice to make sure I was reading it right!

Harper, the daughter of a Marine, grew up on base in North Carolina and moves to California to start college and live her life. She almost instantly falls in love with two incredibly gorgeous guys who also happen to be friends. Chase is the brother of Harper's new roommate Bree (who is an amazing character and everyone should have a bff like her). He knows that he is no good for Harper but he gives up his skanky girls and drunk nights in an attempt to prove his worth.  Brandon is an underground MMA fighter with a sensitive side and Harper and him immediately start dating. (I was totally waiting for him to screw up in a bad way).  Both guys have swoon worthy moments and will do anything for Harper yet I am totally Team Chase (I think)! It's a torturous love triangle and you honestly get the love that Harper feels for both of them. Without giving away any spoilers (and believe me I want to this time) Bree and Chase's parents take in Harper as one of their own and they show her love that she has never received from her own father.

The book is a little long but I'm happy that it wasn't split into two books. Not sure if I'd have the heart to read the second one after the turn of events that take place. Taking Chances is an intense and heartbreaking story of family, love, loss, relationships and second chances!

The Mighty Storm - review

This book is absolutely mighty amazing!!!

Trudy Bennett hasn't seen her best friend and boy she once loved in twelve years. He also happens to be Jake Wethers, deliciously sexy, tattooed, rock star of the Mighty Storm! Tru is sent to interview Jake for the magazine that she writes for and old sparks immediately start flying. The only problem is that Tru has a boyfriend, Will, of 2 years and Jake is (wild, untameable, man-whore, rock god) well, Jake! Even so, he was her first love and neither of them want to let the other go again. Jake is persuasive and gets what he wants when he wants it! Tru is beautiful, smart and level-headed when it comes to everything but Jake!

The Mighty Storm had the perfect combination of love, romance (who'd have thought Jake had it in him?!), plenty of angst, no really, PLENTY OF ANGST and great characters.  I loved everything about this book, including the ending! This book made me smile, my heart hurt, my eyes tear up and my stomach flutter! It's just what I love when reading!

Effortless - review

The sequel to Thoughtless and just as good, if not better!  Kellen Kyle is even more swoon worthy if that's even possible!

With the D-bags on tour and Kiera still in school she is forced to put her trust in Kellen even with all the groupies throwing themselves at him. All I have to say is LOVE NOTES, aaahhhhh!

SC Stephens does a fantastic job of making you feel every emotion in these books. While Kiera wasn't as annoying in this book, she still had me wanting to break my kindle a few times!  I surprisingly formed a soft spot for Griffen and found him completely entertaining!

I can't wait to re-read this series before Reckless, the 3rd book comes out! The title already has my stomach in knots!

Thoughtless - review

Kellen Kyle, Kellen Kyle, Kellen Kyle!!! *sigh*

Kiera and her boyfriend, Denny drive to Seattle to start their new lives together. When Denny's job has him go to Arizona for a few months, Kiera turns to Denny's best friend and local rock star, Kellen Kyle. He is amazing and that's putting it mildly! Kellen is gorgeous, intense and incredibly sexy!

I absolutely had a love/hate relationship with this book as I was reading it. Kiera was completely annoying to me and at times had me wanting to throw my kindle across the room! If it wasn't for Kellen Kyle and all of his rockstar sexiness then I probably would have! Kiera was very immature,a total tease and I felt so bad for Denny. This angst filled love story will have your heartstrings tugged at from the very beginning!

Beautiful Disaster - review

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE this story!!!

Abby Abernathy, the good girl gets challenged by the bad boy, walking one night stand known as Travis Maddox (start swooning girls)! He is an underground street fighter, covered in tats and rides a motorcycle! He challenges Abby to a bet that if he loses he must remain abstinent for a month and if she loses she must live with him for the same amount of time. This is a recipe for a beautiful disaster if I've ever seen one! As the month progresses so does their crazy, messed up, heart-breaking, loving relationship. Can't wait to read it again through Travis' eyes in Walking Disaster!
