Undeniably You - review

In case you haven't noticed, I've been in a bit of a book lull and this book was the perfect one to pull me out of it!

This book. This book brought out every emotion in me from the very beginning. I actually caught myself holding my breath and at times had to put it down for a few seconds to collect my thoughts before diving right back in.

I loved Lautner from his first appearance as the naked pool guy and even more as the book went on. I was completely destroyed when Sydney's job was up and their time together came to an end. Though I enjoyed the other characters, these two were it for me! With a few twists of fate and a lot of anguish my heart hurt for these two. I can honestly say that I loved the ending and am happy with how their story turned out. It was perfect and undeniably the best "what if" that was!

Leap - review

Leap by M.R. Joseph was a great stand alone book featuring Mack and Rinny! You will fall in love with their story from the very beginning and get sucked into each and every bump, twist and turn along the way!

Life is about taking chances. Life is about taking the leap of faith. The leap.

These words couldn't be more true for the two childhood friends as their lives unfold on the pages. Their story is like none other and Ms. Joseph did a great job of dealing with some very touchy topics and social issues.

I really enjoyed this book and completely believe it's worth the chance to take the leap so if I were you I'd take the leap and read this book! You will not regret it!

Bury Me - review

Oh my word! I am completely floored by what I just read! Did this really come from Tara Sivec?? I fell in love with her back in the Chocolate Lover Series days (my that was some time ago)! Since then, she has continued to surprise me in a good way! From comedy to romance, erotica to mysteries, Bury Me is like nothing that you have read before.

Ravenna Duskin is 18 years old and she lives in a prison. This is her story and it's a twisted one. After waking up and not knowing who she is or what happened to her, she is determined to figure it out and once she does, it will bury you!

This book is full of twists and turn and will keep you guessing until the very end!

 Displaying TPS Blog Tour Banner.jpg
Synopsis

They say it takes 21 days to form a habit.
They lie.
For 21 days she held on.

Because on Day 22, she realizes that her only way out means certain death for one of the two men she loves.

A haunting tale of passion, loss, and redemption, The Paper Swan is a darkly intense yet heartwarming love story, textured with grit, intrigue, and suspense. Please note: This is NOT a love triangle.

A full-length, standalone novel, intended for mature audiences due to violence, sex and language. Subject matter may be disturbing for some readers.

Excerpt

I was still peering out of the stateroom window when Damian came in. He stopped in his tracks when he saw me. For one full, glorious second, he wasn’t in control. His gaze swept the length of my legs, over the hip-hugging shorts, and lingered on the swell of my breasts under the scandalous top. Ha! He wasn’t immune after all. He caught the smug look on my face before I could wipe it off, and his eyes narrowed.

Shit.

I took one step back for each one he took forward, until I was jammed up between him and the wall. God, he was intense. And deliberate. And he could say things with his eyes that made my knees tremble. One side of his face was bruised and distorted from where I’d hit him. He grasped both my wrists in one hand and pinned them above me. Every part of me felt flush with the heat emanating from his body, even though that was the only point of contact. He hooked a finger in the ‘V’ of my blouse, tracing the dangerously low cleavage. His touch was so soft, it was barely discernible.

“Skye?” He seemed hypnotized by the rapid rise and fall of my chest.

I swallowed.

“Don’t play with scorpions unless you intend to get stung.” He yanked the neckline apart.

Round, glass buttons popped onto the floor and rolled around like eyeballs, astounded by the sight of my bare flesh.

“We’re harsh and predatory and full of venom.” He gnashed his teeth at me and ripped my blouse in two.

He tore off a strip and bound my wrists. Then he used the hanging trail like a leash and led me to bed. “You’ve been trying to get a rise out of me for days. Now that you have my attention, what are you going to do?” He leaned forward, so close that I fell back onto the mattress, trying to get away from him.

“Or is it that you want me to do all the work so your pampered pussy gets a taste of the other side, but you can tell yourself you didn’t have a choice?” He crawled up over me, slowly, until we were nose to nose.

I felt like hell was about to consume me. I could hear the men outside, gearing up to fill the tanks. Would they hear the sound of my screams?

“Would you like me to invite them in?” Damian secured my wrists to the bed post. “Do you really think you’d be safer with them instead of me?” He tore off another strip, giving me the chance to scream or yell or shout for help. When I didn’t, he tied it around my mouth.

He sank back on his heels, kneeling between my legs, and ran a finger from my neck to the front clasp of my bra. I stopped breathing. He moved on, trailing over my stomach, until he got to the band of my shorts. He toyed with the tab, enjoying the start-stop effect it had on my heart.

“Such a frightened little bird,” he said. Then he yanked my legs around his hips so I was flush with his rock hard arousal. “You should know better than to provoke me.”

MY REVIEW:
After being stuck in a reading slump for a little while, Leylah Attar comes back with another book that I just completely devour. I loved everything about 53 Letters to my Lover and couldn't wait for The Paper Swan and surely it did not disappoint.

The Paper Swan was unique, it was dark, it was intense, it was heartbreaking and it was beautifully perfect. The story will draw you in and take you on a ride from the very first page. This book is full of secrets, lies, revenge and redemption.

Leylah Attar is by far one of my new favorite authors and she just solidified that with her second book. You do not want to miss her books!

MY REVIEW:
Once I saw that Alison Bailey had a new book coming out, I jumped on the chance to read it! After reading and loving her Perfect Series, I knew this author was one that I would continue to add to my Must Read List.

Stop! was a book like no other. It had twists and turns and kept me wanting more the entire time. What I loved about it was the raw, real life issues of dealing with college, coming of age and figuring out who you are while trying to keep true to yourself. With all of the current controversies today, this book really puts things into perspective.

If you read one book this year, make sure it's Stop! The characters are great, easy to connect with, and makes you feel like you are living their lives with them. Alison Bailey has outdone herself this time and I'm thankful to have been a part of this blog tour!

“Name?” she said, impatiently. I was so flustered that for a second I’d forgotten who I was. “Hollis Murphy.”

She scribbled something on a spreadsheet and handed me a packet with my name and the number two hundred ten typed out on the front sticker, which I assumed was my room number.

In a flat bored voice, she said, “Everything you need to know is in the packet. Should you have any additional questions or needs after reading the information, please ask your RA. Have a productive semester. Next!”

Clutching the envelope to my chest, my gaze shifted back down, and I walked quickly out of the office.

As I turned the corner, a loud deep woot! jerked my attention down the hall. I took one step before crashing full force into something solid and warm. Stumbling back, I dropped the envelope. Once my balance returned, my eyes focused on a gray T-shirt with cut off sleeves, stretched across broad shoulders. When I glanced down in search of my envelope, I couldn’t help but spot the narrow hips and round ass covered in black basketball shorts. As I squatted to pick up the envelope, a tanned forearm came into view. My gaze roamed up to find the arm was covered in bulging muscles.

“Oh god, I’m so . . . sor…ry,” I stammered, my cheeks heating with embarrassment.

“Here ya go,” a deep voice said.

Reaching for the envelope, my gaze inadvertently shot up to the warmest green eyes ever created. His dark brown hair was cut short on the sides, longer on top, and tousled. The perfect amount of scuff peppered his strong jawline, with deep dimples framing a sexy lopsided smile. The air was immediately sucked from my lungs. He wasn’t just hot, he was boy band hot. A deep chuckle drifted down before I realized he had stood up and was extending his hand to me.

Oh boy! I get to touch him.

I slipped my hand into his and felt an immediate jolt of electricity. The muscles in his arm twitched. He felt it too. “Thank you,” I said, as he helped me up.

“I’m Risher Stevenson.”

He was actually introducing himself to me. It had become a habit not to look directly at anyone, especially a stranger. I automatically angled my head down and to the left, to hide the messed-up side of my face. But those green eyes locked me in place.

“Hollis Murphy.”

“Nice to meet you Hollis Murphy.”

“Sorry again about running into you. I need to do a better job at watching where I’m going.”

The tip of his tongue slipped between his lips before they formed into a slight smirk. Just as he was about to speak, his name came barreling down the hallway.

“Rish! Get your ass down here. We’ve got a ton of boxes to haul in.” A blond-haired guy was standing at the end of the hall.

“I gotta go finish helping my friends move in.” I nodded.

Risher took three steps before turning back toward me. “Don’t do too good of a job.” My eyebrows squished together in confusion.

“At watching where you’re going. I hate to think I won’t get rump bumped again.” He winked before jogging away.

I Sasquatched those shoulders, those hips, and that ass all the way down the hall.

Stumbling In - Blog Tour & Review

SYNOPSIS:

Everyone in Sandy Cove knows that Willow Taylor and Max Vincent are like oil and
water. They live to torment one another and if they survive being in the same room together, it’s nothing short of a miracle. Sure, Willow is rich, blonde and beautiful and Max is an achingly hot and talented up and coming rock star—but that just makes it easier for them to hate one another!

Until one night. One drunken night. It was just supposed to be a night of celebration after each of their best friends’, Harlow and Cruz, were reunited. But a few hours of civility leads to one night of unbridled, earth-shattering, cataclysmic sex. It doesn’t help that the details are sketchy in their minds because the off-the-charts after effects still linger. One thing is clear…that night changed everything.

From that moment on, sabotaging each other’s hook-ups was their primary goal until a truce is made. A pact. No strings attached, no feelings, just more of what their bodies crave whenever they see one another. They both get what they want and no one gets hurt.

Until someone does. Until love and tragedy gets in the way. The heat between Willow and Max is undeniable but will that spark of desire be enough to sustain them through the pain and heartache that threatens them?

MY REVIEW:

Stumbling In is Book 3 in the Shore Series by MR Joseph and it features Max and Willow's story with a bit of Harlow and Cruz for good measure! I honestly look forward to this series each summer! It's the perfect beach read!

As we know, Willow is Harlow's best friend. She's edgy, blunt, rich and beautiful and after a drunken night with Max, the hot, talented, musician, the two of them vow never to speak of it again. Though their chemistry is undeniable, the pair want nothing to do with each other. After sabotaging each others dates, Max and Willow make a pact to just have no strings attached sex and to keep it a secret from the rest of the gang. When tragedy strikes, feelings come out and nothing will ever be the same.

Without giving anything away, this book reminded me of my own tragedy and took me back ten years. Tears were flowing and I truly felt Willow's pain. Once again MR Joseph has delivered an awesome read! Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Excerpt From Max-
Stumbling In-The Shore Series Book 3

I go to her and place my hand on her shoulder, and she turns around and I’m faced with the most unexpected thing that I think has ever happened. Willow turns around and grabs handfuls of my shirt and pulls me to her soft, wanting lips. She kisses me, and it’s just not a kiss that breathes lust but it breathes the fire of passion, of meaning. It makes my hair stand on end and leaves the skin beneath electrified. The soft motion of her mouth with mine, the scent of her hair and the taste of her tongue dancing inside my mouth, spins me into oblivion. There’s more to this kiss. I feel it in my bones. I feel it in my soul. She kisses me like we are music. We are the rhythm joining together with the notes and the melody. I grasp the back of her head and thread my fingers in her hair softly. I deepen the kiss and I reach the point where I swim in this moment so deep that I don’t want to come to the surface… and that’s when she pulls away and I know I’m fucked.

I’m so fucking fucked.

She holds her lips with her long, slender fingers. Her eyes find mine and I’m still lost in whatever that was. I can’t even ask her because I can’t even speak. It wasn’t the normal wanton kiss that happens between us when we just use each other. No, oh no, this was something else.

“Willow…” She holds up her hand to stop me.

“Let’s just leave it at that, Max.”
I walk past her slowly as I hear the relentlessness of the bus’s horn and slide open the door to her room. I turn around and she’s already back to leaning on the rail. Her body turned to the calm waters. The sun shines down on her bare, bronzed shoulders and the wind picks up and blows her hair around again. It’s the last time I’ll see her in person for a while and after that kiss, my head and something else right at this very moment doesn’t want it to be the last time. It’s not the right time to analyze what that kiss was. Maybe it was a goodbye kiss. A proper send off. The end of whatever we were to each other. Was it a blessing for me to go and see where it goes with Cora? What was that? I’ll tell you what it was. The unexpected.

“I’ll miss you, Willow.” Not being so sure she can hear me, I say it as I walk out the door.  I leave her with my brain consisting of mush and my lips already feeling some sort of loss.

Most of all… a lot to think about.

Frenched Series - reviews

 Floored (Frenched, #3)
Floored (Frenched 3)
After falling in love with Frenched, a true hidden gem, in my opinion, and Forked, I couldn't wait to read Floored. Floored was just as fun, if not better!

When Charlie Dwyer, handsome police officer shows up at Erin Upton's house after a break in, Erin is not only embarrassed but also attracted to this grown up version of the boy she used to know. Erin agrees to a date and finds herself falling more and more for Charlie. When she finds out he's been keeping a secret from her that changes her perspective on their entire relationship, she must decide whether or not Charlie is worth it.

With a lot of confessions, Breaking Bad references and kinky toys, this book floored me and I absolutely loved it!

 22605502
Forked (Frenched 2)
Coco Thomas is Mia's best friend and partner at Devine Events. When planning a party and the party host requests none other than Nick Lupo, who also happens to be her gorgeous ex, as the caterer, you do what you can to get him to agree. Even if that means trading in your time to spend it with him!

When Coco and Nick spend time together, sparks fly regardless of the fact that their history is off limits and not to resurface again. Fortunately for them, some rules are made to be broken.

Forked was a great addition to the Frenched series and I can't wait for more form Melanie Harlow.

 Frenched (Frenched, #1) https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1400719993l/22241626.jpg
Frenched and Yanked (Frenched 1.5)
This book! This book! Where has it been all my life?! Such a hidden gem and my personal favorite kind of book. What's better than a romantic encounter in Paris turned into something so much more?!

When Mia's fiance leaves her before the wedding, she is completely heartbroken. Her friends convince her to go on the honeymoon alone, it is Paris after all! When Mia finds herself in a bar with Lucas Fournier, he offers to show her around the city.

Since Mia is only going to be there a week, she lets Lucas give her the full parisian experience. Falling in love in Paris may sound cliche but I absolutely adored everything about this book! I loved even more that we got to continue Lucas and Mia's story in Yanked! You do not want to miss these books!

The Pact - review

Karina Halle is easily one of my favorite authors and this book is just another reason why!

Stephanie Robinson and Linden McGregor have been friends ever since Steph began dating James. Although it didn't work out the three of them remained close. On her 25th birthday, Linden proposes a pact to Steph that if they are not married by the time they are 30, they will marry each other. Sounds crazy, right?! Well Steph sure thought so until the two of them cross the friend line an of course James is there to help blur that line!

I loved this book! I love the friends-to-lovers storyline and it doesn't hurt that Linden is hot! Definitely on of my favorites of the year so far!

Never Never - review

When I found out that two of my favorite authors were going to team up to create a book, I couldn't wait to read it! Never Never did not disappoint!

Collen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher nailed it! This book was different and unlike anything I've read before. The only downfall is the huge cliffhanger! I need more now!!!!

Best friends since they could walk.
In love since the age of fourteen.
Complete strangers since this morning.

He'll do anything to remember.
She'll do anything to forget.

When Silas and Charlie both wake up with no memory of who they are, they team up to figure things out. I must say, I have no clue as to where this story is going and was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Unbreakable - review

Unbreakable by Rebecca Shea was the last  book that I read in 2014 and it definitely ended my year perfectly!

Jess and Gabe have been friends forever. He's the boy next door and Jess was pretty much raised by his parents when her mother died.

Gabe is completely swoon worthy! Once Gabe and Jess start dating and their love was sweet, perfect, almost too perfect. I was waiting for something bad to happen and boy did it! In the blink of an eye, their relationship changes and Jess takes an internship position across the country where we meet Landon! Seriously swoon time! I think I'm a Landon girl myself!

Landon is the bad boy and player who won't settle down though he does fall hard for Jess, he knows that her heart is with Gabe.

Unbreakable evoked every emotion out of me and I honestly can't wait for Undone.

Easy Virtue - review

Seriously, Mia Asher I love you and I hate you! You are killing me with these books!

After Arsen, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Mia Asher's next story! Easy Virtue is anything but easy! It's messy, it's twisted, it's a roller coaster ride that I can't get off of and now I'm stuck waiting for the next twist and turn.

Blaire is a strong girl who knows how to get what she wants. That is until Ronan comes along and makes her feel things that she's never felt before. Good thing she has Lawrence too!

“It’s better to live a life full of regrets than not live at all.” He lowers his voice and adds huskily, “Let me show you how it’s done.”
Mia Asher, Easy Virtue

Ms. Asher can deliver a book like no other!  The only thing I can say is, "Please write faster"!!!
