Scars & Songs (Mad World #3) - review

After reading Scars and Songs I am definitely loving Shane Maxton even more than humanly possible!

“You want to be my first, Shane?”
“No, baby, I’m going to be your last.”

- Grace and Shane

Scars and Songs is Fall from Grace and Saving Grace retold from Shane's point of view. If you haven't read those books then you are missing out! This book adds to the already excellent series. You will love the characters and the storyline from the very beginning of time! There is so much angst, sexual tension and a holyfreakinghotness factor going on!

Shane Maxton, lead singer for Mad World is a swoon-worthy, bad boy rock star who isn't what everyone thinks he is. In this book we get to see his fall from grace, his innermost thoughts and just what he will do to get the girl he's been looking for for over 2,000 years.

A perfect ending to a phenomenal series! I dare you to not fall in love with Shane Maxton! Good luck ladies, he is heaven on Earth!

Tie Me (One Night With Sole Regret) - review

Kellen Jamison, rhythm guitarist for Sole Regret, can Tie Me up any day!

Although his heart is tied to his past and the fiance that he lost to cancer, Kellen is trying to untie the strings and remove the cuffs that keep reminding him of what he no longer has. When he hears the hauntingly beautiful piano coming from the house next door he is drawn to the sound like a moth to a flame. It's then that he meets the classical composer Dawn O'Reilly. Dawn is a stunning character who is tied to her music. She and Kellen have a spark that ignites instantly and they discover how strong ties can bind and how good the release can be!

This night with Sole Regret was one of my favorites. I love the thought of severing the ties to your past while tying them to your future in a completely erotic and sexy way. Olivia Cunning has a way with words and has mastered the hot rock stars. I may never look at a piano the same way again!

Fortunately for Gwyn that question has never had to be answered.

She discovers the Club of the Unknown, where dark deeds are committed and supposed to be forgotten in the morning.

There she discovers the promise of a new day was false.

*Author Bio*

I am not going to talk in the third person. It feels weird.

I am a Canadian author of Paranormal Romance, Post Apocalyptic and Fantasy novels. Mostly because I think I have Writers ADD, I like to call it WADD. It might be a real thing.

I write New Adult, my books have sexual content (Heck yes) and Swearing. You have been warned. Now enjoy!

I have a beagle named Buster, a husband who I force to read everything I write and two girls who want so badly to be a character in my books. And not in that order.

I am mid thirties so be prepared for the chick lit novel this year. I am calling it my Ode to my Midlife Crisis.
I have been writing since I was old enough to lie. So for some time.

Welcome to my world. Please enjoy the ride.

Epilogue: Dark Duet #3 - review

As if The Dark Duet series couldn't get any better, we now get an amazing Epilogue which is the cherry on top! At least, for now.

Told from Caleb's point of view, this book is the perfect ending to where we left off.  It's like we just begged him to tell his story! Thankfully, Caleb likes a little begging and he's kind enough to reward us afterwards!

While this series isn't for everyone, with it's dark, twisted, intense ways, it is not one to be missed. I have said before that it's worth stepping out of your comfort zone for. If not for anything else, it's to know how incredibly talented CJ Roberts is. Writing from Caleb's point of view solidifies that. Caleb is a tortured, flawed character who is trying to find out who he is and discover his new relationship with Livvie. I love seeing how much Caleb and Livvie have grown and changed even after all they have been through. I don't want to give anything away (especially to those who haven't read the series yet) but I'd say Ms. Roberts has outdone herself on this one. If you haven't read this series then I suggest you do so, NOW.

Watch Over Me - Blog Tour

Watch Over Me from Tara Sivec was simply a great book. Far different from all of her others yet I'm convinced that Tara can write anything and it would fall nothing short of great!

Death change everyone.....

What a true and telling statement. When Addison Snow loses her mom unexpectedly her entire world changes. After a failed suicide attempt and dealing with an alcoholic father, Addison is just trying to get on with her life and maintain her mother's bakery. In walks Zander Reinhardt and suddenly life seems to start looking positive again.

I absolutely love Zander and his napkin notes! He is such a great character but also has a secret that can ruin everything between him and Addison.

This book is all about growing, changing and rediscovery. I genuinely loved this story. Can't wait to see what Ms. Sivec comes out with next!

Book Blurb:

Addison Snow is your typical teenager. She has a family that loves her, friends that make her laugh, and she's wrapped up in the excitement of graduating high school and going off to college to pursue her dream of becoming an author. When her mother, who also happens to be Addison's best friend, dies unexpectedly, her world comes to a crashing halt.

Death changes everyone...

To make the pain go away, Addison and her father travel down separate, dark paths. She chooses to end her grief forever, while he drowns his sorrows in the bottom of a bottle. How do you learn to live again when the most important person in your life is gone?

Addison struggles to pick up the pieces of her life. Instead of getting back to being the carefree teenager she once was, she's stuck handling all of the responsibilities that should have been her father's. She has no time to grieve, no time for emotions, and no time for happiness...until Zander Reinhardt walks in. All it takes is one little handwritten note on a napkin to kickstart
her back to life and help her realize that maybe there's more to that life than pain.

But can it really be that simple? Can she really trust this man who makes her feel alive again for the first time in a year?

Addison and Zander both have secrets they aren't ready to share. When the truth finally comes out, is it enough to tear them apart or has something bigger than themselves always been watching over them, pushing them together, making sure they both get their happily ever after?

This Man - review

I really don't know where to start with this book. I liked part of it, hated most of it and loved some of it too. Let me start by saying that I've heard so many good things about this book that I couldn't wait to read it. Unfortunately, I don't share the same enthusiasm as everyone else.

This Man started out promising. Ava O'Shea, interior designer, hired to work for Lord Jesse Ward at The Manor. Sounds intriguing. I keep reading only to find out nothing about Jesse or Ava or The Manor. For me, Jesse was a controlling, demanding, unreasonable, intense, crazy, overprotective, possessive, stalker. Sure he was sexy but he used sex to manipulate the unprofessional, naive, intimidated Ava. Every time she attempted to stand up for herself, Jesse told her how it was going to be. And she obeyed. Ugh. Stupid girl. I would have walked once he cut up my dress! Just saying.

As for the plot, I didn't really feel like there was one. If it wasn't for the sex, I'd have left The Manor a long time ago! Nothing actually happened until the end but of course I'll keep reading because it's like a bad train wreck that you can't look away from. and I want to find out more about these characters in hopes that they change my mind about this book.

Sexy Sunday 6/9

My inspiration this week is from ''This  Man'' by Jodi Ellen Malpas. Mr. Jesse Ward is powerful and controlling yet somehow sexy.
