Cover Reveal - The Banished One

Yay! Check out the new cover for The Banished One. Book 3 in The Undeparted series by Deborah Palumbo. Can't wait to read it!

DESCRIPTION OF THE BANISHED ONE:
The Banished One, a serial killer vampire also named Lucius, is still wreaking havoc on the sleepy town in Tower City, and since he's supernatural he can't be captured by normal police procedure
A frustrated Lieutenant Welby refuses to believe that the elusive Lucius, the one responsible for those dead bodies in his town, is a vampire; that defies logic. There's got to be another explanation for those fang marks in the victims' throats.
Welby remains a staunch disbeliever in vampires until the coroner, Doc McMahon, causes him to change his mind!
Doc shows Welby his ancestral journal from the 1700's regarding Quentin Castle, the father of all vampires.
Welby is whisked back in time as he reads those yellowed pages filled with encounters of beautiful women being lured to their mortal doom and transformed into vampires by the handsome and charming Quentin.
But what causes Welby to finally be convinced, is a series of preternatural events and the coroner's scientific evidence!
Welby then follows the old town rumors about vampires right to Quentin and his gothic castle to enlist Quentin's supernatural aid in capturing Lucius.
Will Quentin, the only one who can stop Lucius' vampire tirades, help the Lieutenant or make him one of The Undeparted?
Will Quentin battle Lucius and send Lucius to the bowels of hell for eternity, finally ensuring that Cassandra is safe from her old beau? Will the old coal mining town be safe at last?

The Unidentified Redhead - review

Yes, I absolutely bought this book for the cover, and the title! There's just something about a redhead.....

The Unidentified Redhead was fun, witty, sexy and a great read! Grace Sheridan returns to Los Angeles as an aspiring actress when she meets the super sexy British actor, Jack Hamilton. He's the next "it" boy and even though he's nine years younger than Grace, the two of them really hit it off and their story is one of excitement and laughs along with great sex! Their relationship is just that, a relationship. You can actually relate to their love story and hope that you find one like it.

Alice Clayton is fabulous and had me swooning in love and laughing hysterically. Can't wait to read more of Jack and Grace in The Redhead Revealed.

Sexy Sunday - 10/28

Well since I've been reading The Unidentified Redhead by Alice Clayton (all week! yes, I'm slacking), who better than the sexy, charming, Brit named Jack Hamilton to take over this sexy Sunday! He's the next "it" boy and while he's a little young, he's still a whole lot of sexy! My vision of Jack, must be the hair ;)

Tempting the Best Man - review

Super hot book from Ms. Armentrout! Tempting the Best Man was fun, steamy, romantic and an all around great story!

Maddie Daniels has always had a thing for her brother's friend, Chase Gamble. Everyone thinks they are perfect together but after they had a one night fling a few years ago all they do is argue. Their chemistry is undeniable and when the two of them are forced to room together (in a 70's themed honeymoon suite) at Maddie's brother's wedding, the sparks start flying!

I loved reading this book and I absolutely love the new cover. It is way hotter than the old one! Really can't wait to read about the rest of those Gamble brothers. Look for Tempting the Player which should be out soon if it isn't already!

Collision Course - review

S.C. Stephens is amazing and has done it again. Collision Course did not disappoint and I highly recommend this one!

Lucas had everything he could possibly want until that one horrific night when the car he was driving crashed. He lost three of his friends that night and now as the lone survivor, his entire world has changed.

Lucas is now dealing with his own pain, loss, and guilt along with town gossip regarding that night. Then he meets Sawyer, ah, love her! She is such a great character and exactly what Lucas needs right then.

A heartbreaking and emotional story of life struggles, friendship and learning to love again.

Poughkeepsie - review

I wanted to like this book so much more than I actually did. I had Poughkeepsie on my to-read list for a month or so and once it took over my Twitter feed I felt it was time to read it. The first 25 percent of the book was intriguing and then it fell a bit short and I completely lost interest.

Blake Hartt is homeless and every day he sits in the shade at the Poughkeepsie train station counting the smiles of Livia McHugh. When Livia and Blake finally begin talking, their friendship grows into more when they awaken something in each other.

There is also interwoven tales of love within the story between Blake's "brothers". I guess the story line was a little too far fetched for me to enjoy. For those of you who are interested, there will be a book 2 in the series by Debra Anastasia.

50 Shades of Grey - reviews

Oh Fifty! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this series yet considering it brought back my reading addiction. For three straight days all I could do was read about the hot, sexy, billionaire known as Christian Grey!

When Christian meets Miss Anastasia Steele, he is completely taken by her and wants her but on his terms. He presents Ana with a shocking contract which she carefully processes in order to see if she can actually have a relationship with him. While Christian has his own secrets and tortured past, Ana is discovering her own dark desires while learning more about Christian.

“I want you sore, baby,” he murmurs, and he continues his sweet, leisurely torment, backward, forward. “Every time you move tomorrow, I want you to be reminded that I’ve been here. Only me. You are mine.” E.L. James, Fifty Shades of Grey

Okay Christian.....that's hot! And believe it or not, there is actually a storyline to be found in this series and a hell of a cliffhanger at the end of this book. I actually thought my kindle broke because the book just stopped. Luckily, I didn't have to wait for book 2.

Fifty Shades Darker picked up right where the first left off. Ana had broken it off with Christian because she couldn't get used to the contract and being a submissive in a relationship. She also wanted to start working at a publishing house.  The problem is that Christian still dominates her every thought. He doesn't want to be without her either and is willing to get rid of the contract so that they can  be together.

“Let me ask you something first. Do you want a regular vanilla relationship with no kinky fuckery at all?"  My mouth drops open.
"Kinky fuckery?" I squeak.  "Kinky fuckery."
"I like your kinky fuckery," I whisper.”
E.L. James, Fifty Shades Darker

I really liked how Christian started opening up in this book and we get a glimpse of his childhood and how he got to where he is. I loved the emails back and forth between Christian and Ana. They were witty, fun and sexy. Every time Christian said, "We aim to please, Miss Steele" and "laters, baby" I found myself smiling. Definitely a sweeter side of Mr. Grey but we still get his fifty shades too.
The suspenseful storyline continued with some clever twists and turns to keep you guessing what will happen next (after recovering from some hot sex scenes).

I can't get enough fifty and never want it to end!

Fifty Shades Freed was and excellent ending to the trilogy. And it contained my favorite scene out of all the books (no, I'm not telling which one that is ;) but lets just say it's super hot)!

Ana's inner goddess is back and in full effect and Christian still has his domineering ways but the two of them have found their happy medium. It's not all vanilla and not all BDSM!

The ending was perfect! I loved the epilogue and the bonus chapter with Christian meeting Ana for the first time from his point of view. Wouldn't mind re-reading the entire series from Christian's perspective but that's all we get for now.

So now we wait to see who is going to get to act out this series on the big screen. Let's hope we aren't disappointed!

“Sometimes I wonder if there's something wrong with me. Perhaps I've spent too long in the company of my literary romantic heroes, and consequently my ideals and expectations are far too high.”
E.L. James, Fifty Shades of Grey

Kingdom Hill - review

I was super excited when Lindsay Delagair asked me to read Kingdom Hill. I absolutely loved her Untouchable Series and while this book was nothing like those books it was still a great read.

Cass is a hard working business women who's company is surveying most of Scotland when she discovers a hill that just shouldn't be there. When AJ, a writer for National Geographic arrives, the two of them discover a lot more, a buried castle, historic scrolls and eventually love.

AJ is a great character and also has a secret that once he tells to Cass could change everything. If you are looking for a happy ever after then this is not necessarily the book for you yet it's beautiful and heart wrenching at the same time.

Sexy Sunday 10/14

Can't believe it's Sunday already! I didn't really have a book boyfriend this week so I'm going to back to an old one.

Cage York, Because of Low and While it Lasts by Abbi Glines is super scrumptious! He's a baseball player and a total hottie. Abbi posted this picture on facebook and I'll take it as a perfect Cage York!

Her Forbidden Hero - review

Another good book from Laura Kaye. It was short and sweet and ultimately a decent read.

Alyssa Scott has always been off limits to her brother's best friend, Marco Vieri. Now that she's all grown up, Alyssa knows exactly what she wants and it's always been him.  All Alyssa needs  to do is convince Marco that everything is okay with them having a relationship. Marco just wants to protect Alyssa but she doesn't want or need protecting anymore.

Marco is a great hero! Wounded soldier dealing with his own issues and trying to take care of Alyssa at the same time. She moves in with him and of course the boundary lines are crossed. There are some swoon worthy moments and some yummy sex scenes! Not a book to be missed!

Hearts in Darkness - review

Hearts in Darkness was a hot little novella by Laura Kaye!

Mackenna James was having a terrible day and it is about to get worse when she literally stumbled into an elevator with a complete stranger and gets stuck for hours. Caden Grayson is covered in piercings and tattoos and dislikes dark, confined spaces. The two of them are complete opposites yet must help each other out during their time together. Opposites attract and sparks sure start flying in the dark!!

“Caden let out his own moan when her lips pressed against the skin in front of his ear. She exhaled roughly. The rush of her breath over his skin brought goose bumps to his neck.
He trailed soft kisses across her cheek until he found her lips.
And then he couldn’t go slow anymore.
And neither could she.” -
Laura Kaye

“He crowded right up into her space, pressed his body against hers—trapping her against the glass of the door behind her, plunged his hands into her hair until he was cupping the nape of her neck, and devoured her lips with his.” - Laura Kaye

This book definitely makes getting stuck in a elevator hot!

Vincent Boys - reviews

Abbi Glines is amazing and so is the Vincent Boys series!

Sawyer and Beau Vincent are cousins who grew up with and both happen to be in love with Ashton Gray. Sawyer and Ashton are the perfect couple and lately Ashton has had enough. When Sawyer leaves town for the summer, Beau and Ashton try to rekindle their friendship. Beau is the town bad boy and the sexiest guy that Ashton has ever seen. He is also the perfect guy to bring out her wild side! I love the relationship between Beau & Ashton. I am totally team Beau (must be my love for bad boys)!

The Vincent Boys was a perfect blend of love, romance, drama (hello love triangle!) and fun. It was a great read and the ending set up the next book brilliantly.

The Vincent Brothers was a great addition to the Vincent Boys series.

Sawyer, who's been left heartbroken by Ashton and Beau is trying to move on with his life. When Ashton's cousin Lana comes to town Sawyer believes that hanging out with her will at least make Ashton jealous. Of course Lana has had a crush on Sawyer for years and is trying to help him move on from Ashton to her.

Sawyer and Lana heat up the pages! They really are great characters! I loved seeing Sawyer grow up and I actually liked him so much more in this book than I did in the first.

If you haven't read any books from Abbi Glines, I strongly suggest you start now!

Breathing Series - reviews

Reason to Breathe is the first book in the highly emotional Breathing Series from Rebecca Donovan.

Emma Thomas is beautiful, smart, strong and goes through high school trying not to exist. She buries herself in school work to avoid the disturbing reality that is her life.  Emma lives with her aunt who emotionally, verbally and physically abuses her and her uncle who doesn't acknowledge the fact. When Evan Matthews shows up as a new student he completely turns her world upside down.

This book was so emotionally disturbing to read but it was one of those books that you just can't put down. Make sure when you read it you have the second book readily available because there is on hell of a cliffhanger!

Wow. Speechless. Barely breathing is just as intense and emotional as the first book.

Six months after the night from hell in Reason to Breathe, Emma is staying with her best friend Sara, when she decides to go live with her alcoholic mother.  Not a very good situation for Emma to be in especially since her mother never remembers half of what she says and does when she is sober. Rachel's new, younger boyfriend Jonathan befriends Emma and they realize that they have a lot  more in common than they think. Both are dealing with past issues of abuse and begin a relationship that they can't explain.

There are so many twists and turns and ups and downs in this book. Just when you think everything is going to turn out okay Miss Donovan turns it up a notch and we are left in total shock with another cliffhanger! Just breathe! And wait for Out of Breath which will be out next year!

The Sweet Gum Tree - review

The Sweet Gum Tree was a phenomenal book about a southern girl from a well respected family who falls in love with a boy from the wrong side of town.

Nick comes from a broken home and an abusive father. When he meets Alix, a girl that sees the good in him, everything changes. Alix and Nick are just kids when they first meet and they form an amazing friendship which over the years turns into love. Everything seems to be going just right for them until the one night that Nick's father is shot in his trailer and Nick takes off, leaving Alix confused and pregnant. She moves on with her life and fifteen years later Nick is back in town and not alone, yet he is determined to win Alix back.

This book was beautifully written, the characters were amazing and it's full of emotion, heartache, forgiveness and love. I highly recommend this one, 4.5 stars!

Saving Grace - review

"There is a charm about the forbidden that makes it unspeakably desireable." - Mark Twain

Saving Grace wall all sorts of holyfreakinghotness!  For over 2,000 years Grace Taylor has been looking for the angel that she was forbidden to fall in love with. She finds him in the hot, tatooed rock star known as Shane Maxton. He is all sorts of sexiness! I thought I loved Shane before, now I'm pretty sure the temperature just turned up about 100 degrees!  The problem is that the archangel Gabriel wants Grace for himself and will stop at nothing to get his way.

"Dear God, there is something about this man that makes you want to stick your panties in his pockets and tell him you're halfway there.." - Grace Taylor

"I want to lick him like a freaking cherry ice pop, let him melt in my mouth, get all sticky and lick my fingers clean." - Grace Taylor

I loved this book as much as the first. There is so much sexual tension between Grace and Shane that you feel it heating up the pages.

"I was a complete dripping, hot disaster, falling into pieces, wanting him to fill me and put me back together" - Grace Taylor

Thank heavens that we get the release and a happy ending! And a book written from Shane's point of view is going to be released soon! Yay!

Sexy Sunday - 10/7

Since it took me all week to read Reflected in You (not that I'm really complaining because I got to spend more time with Gideon) I've decided to make him my book boyfriend this week!

He's beautiful, broken, hot, powerful, rich and sexy! Very, very sexy and will make you melt with one look!

Reflected in You - review

Wow. Gideon Cross. I think he's even hotter than I remember!  Book 2 in the Crossfire Series was an excellent continuation of Gideon and Eva's story.

Without giving this book away at all I can say that it's full of drama, angst and scorching hot love scenes! Gideon and Eva's relationship is nothing short of difficult with both of them dealing with past issues and insecurities. It's an emotional roller coaster of a story. When things are bad it's really bad and when it's good, it's really good! And the sex is REALLY GOOD! I felt Eva's frustrations throughout the entire book  with all of Gideon's ups and downs. They have an  extremely addictive relationship and they are each others choice of drug! I wouldn't give up Gideon either if I were Eva!

I am completely addicted to their story and can't wait for Entwined With You!

Incidental Happenstance - review

I absolutely read this book because of the cover! If you don't know me then you probably don't know my love for all things Paris related (and I will get there one day)! That said, this book was it's own Incidental Happenstance!

Tia Hastings lost her fiance one year ago and has been in mourning since. On the anniversary of his death, she decides she is ready to start over and get back out in the world. She goes out to a dive bar where she can observe the whole dating scene again.
Dylan Miller, megastar, just so happens to be at the same dive bar as Tia however, he's incognito and trying to blend into the crowd. Tia recognizes him and their relationship takes off immediately.

The characters are likeable, well other than Penelope Valentine who is out to destroy Dylan and Tia's relationship. This book reminded me a lot of Love Unscripted. I didn't like that Dylan was a rock star AND and actor, seems a little far fetched. I did enjoy the fact that the music brought them together and I wouldn't mind a follow up to Dylan and Tia's story.
