Ryan Winfield completely won me over with South of Bixby Bridge. That being said, I was so excited when I saw this book come across my path that I immediately dove right in. While I didn't hate it, I didn't love it either but you should try it for yourself.
Jane is a 40 something women whose semi-estranged daughter dies of a drug overdose. When she sees a mysterious stranger at her daughter's grave, she decides to follow him to get more insight on the last year of her daughter's life. Caleb is a twenty-five year old musician, living on the streets, trying to get to Austin in order to make it big. Jane takes him in and puts him to work cleaning out the backyard in exchange for helping him get to the place where he can kick start his music career.
Jane and Caleb end up falling in love and ultimately help each other when they need it most. I enjoyed the story but I don't feel like I really connected with the characters. I'm not sure if it was the age difference or I just didn't really care for Jane as much. No mother should go after her dead daughter's maybe boyfriend! Other than that, the story was unique. Ryan has an excellent talent for incorporating the underlying issues of drugs, alcohol, abuse, friendship and love all into a tragic tale of loss and rediscovery.

Present Perfect - review
Present Perfect was awesomely perfect! I simply loved this book from the first entry to the last page. Though it should come with a warning label, DO NOT READ THE END AT WORK!!!
Amanda Kelly has spend her entire life living in the shadow of her perfect older sister and constantly striving for perfection herself. The only perfect thing in her life was her best friend, Noah. (I love Noah!!!) They have shared so much together from their birthday, their first steps to their first kiss. As they get older and are just about to cross that friendship line, Amanda pulls away. She knows that she loves Noah but doesn't think she is good enough for him and she doesn't want to ruin their relationship and ultimately lose Noah as a friend.
"A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words." - Author Unknown, Alison Bailey
Life keeps on moving and the two remain best friends. Then Amanda comes face to face with a life changing event that completely rocked my world. I was not even close to ready for what was coming and from that point on the tears were flowing. Get your tissues ready!
"You can't do anything about the past and people like us don't know if we have a future. The past doesn't exist anymore. All we have is the present. The present is perfect." - Alison Bailey
"By my side, I had the love of my life, my soul mate, my hero and what could be more perfect than that." - Alison Bailey
This book is about friendship, love, living in the present and making sure that everyone you love gets their thank you and goodbye. I honestly can't recommend this book enough. It was emotional, heartbreaking, intense and a stunningly perfect debut from this author. I can't wait to read more books by her.

Love Me - RELEASE DAY!!!!
My mom says that you can’t love someone until you learn to love yourself.
So even though Vincent is getting more and more scary.
Even though he's doing a nationwide search for me.
I'm going to learn to love myself.
Well, I’m going to try.
Well, I’m going to try.
Mostly, I want a boy to love me.
But which one?
Dawson - The gorgeous boy who made a mistake, but whose molten lava kisses and steaminess I can’t freaking resist.
or
Aiden - The God of all Hotties, who is practically infused with love potion. Who I thought liked me, but now says
he wants to be my friend.
or
Brooklyn - The boy that first stole my heart. Who has always loved me. Well, until the whole cabana incident.
I mean, it was bad enough when there was sort of a love triangle, but now that I’m talking to B again, it’s like I’m
in a love rectangle, or a rhombus, or something.
Oh, and did I mention Cooper Steele?
Oh, and did I mention Cooper Steele?
The new soccer coaching, health teaching, tattoed hunk?
Who Garrett sent to school to guard my body.
I mean be my body guard.
But back to loving me.
I should forget about boys and worry about me.
Love me.
Like, eventually.

Letters to Luca - BLOG TOUR
Welcome, welcome everyone to the Reunion Series, Letters to Luca blog tour!! I can't tell you how happy I am that you are here! Today is my first BLOGOVERSARY and to celebrate I am giving away a signed copy of the Reunion Series from M.R. Joseph! This is such a great series but I have to say that Luca is my favorite! Hope you enjoy my review and a few teasers to hold you over for now!
My Review:
Wow. Letters to Luca was hands down the best of the Reunion Series by MR Joseph! I absolutely fell in love with the characters. Leighton was awesome and Luca was delicious. Together they were perfect.
"I think I just died and went to hot-guy-in-my-bed heaven!" - M.R. Joesph
"We are like a s'more. I'm the marshmallow, he's the sweet chocolate and we melt together and it's hot". - M.R. Joseph
Leighton Parks was the shy, quiet girl in high school with a major crush on the popular, star baseball player, Luca Ferro. Out of fear of rejection, Leighton decided to express her feelings to Luca through letters. The letters were everything to Luca and no girl could compare to his "letter girl" until he met a Leighton right before their ten year reunion. Now a best-selling author with a hidden identity, Leighton is no longer that girl. Unfortunately, once her secret comes out, everything changes.
Full of love, angst, heartache and forgiveness, this book had it all. I completely devoured it from the very beginning and I have to say that MR Joseph has written a series that everyone can relate to and enjoy.
Check out my reviews of Reunion and You Belong With Me.
"Luca, I..." His lips crash into mine before I have a
chance to finish what I'm saying. He's gripping my face with both hands
now and I'm powerless against his hot lips.
I'm trying to keep my wits about me; I'm
trying to still my hands, keeping them from grabbing his neck to deepen
this kiss. My thoughts go around and around, I'm dizzy with desire, and
I can't restrain myself from doing what I want to do any longer.
I
stretch my arms around his back and press my lips into him even
farther. He takes his hands from my face and pulls me tightly against
him. He gently slides his tongue into my mouth and I receive it with
every fiber of my being. This kiss is slow, it's deliberate, it's loving
and I don't want it to end.
I push back her shoulders slightly, and she falls back on to the pillows of her bed. Her hair sprays out from beneath her and she holds her naked knees together. Her cream colored skin looks supple, and I want to kiss every inch of her. Her breasts and peach colored nipples are firm, but rest naturally outward. Her body is like a canvas. A beautiful display of art. Suddenly the way she looks changes the way I want things to go right now. I have this girl, in her bed, naked and wanton in front of me. She is mine for the taking, and I no longer feel the desire to just fuck her. I want to make love to her. Soft and slow, rough, and constant. I look at her and rest my hand over my heart. She looks at me confused. Here I am naked and waiting to be inside her, but she stills me. She stills my heart and I wonder how this magical creature came into my life.
Author Bio:
Mom

on her sleeve, believes in true love, soul mates, and that the fate of
love is controlled by our own destiny. Becoming an author was a dream
she never knew she wanted, but now it is her passion, and she prays it
continues.

Pulse - review
Gail McHugh definitely got my pulse going in the follow up to Emily and Gavin's story from Collide. I loved every angst-filled, hot, intense minute of this book (except for the part that nearly gave me a heart attack)! Thanks for that ;)
Gavin Blake is still every bit of the tall, dark and f**kable, swoon worthy, book boyfriend that every girl should be fortunate enough to find. As if it was possible to love him even more, he took it to a whole new level here! Though Emily and Gavin have a few obstacles to overcome, what they endure makes them that much stronger.
We were written for one another, and I wouldn't change one line in our romance novel. The good, the bad, the in between. It's ours. We own it. - Gail McHugh
I could feel Gavin and Emily's love for one another just oozing off the pages! A true love that completes you, makes you stronger and completely happy is hard to find. To be so lucky to find the kind of love that books and movies are made about is truly the greatest ever!
I strongly recommend this series and look forward to what Ms. McHugh delivers us next!

*fanning self
Emily is new to the Big Apple and getting settled in with the help of her boyfriend, Dillon when she meets the tall-dark and F**kable, Gavin Blake! A Yankees game, a few bottle caps and thoughts of a packed green mini van has Emily re-evaluating her current relationship.
